Kumpulan Powernet Berhad (‘Powernet’), in which Advance Synergy Capital Berhad has an investment stake, first started as a manufacturer of warp-knitted fabrics from synthetic yarns for the lingerie industry. Through strategic diversification, the company now also produces warp-knitted fabrics that are used in the apparel, household, automotive, shoe-making, bedding and industrial products manufacturing sectors. Powernet was listed on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia in 2002.
Powernet has fully integrated manufacturing facilities and all processes are done in-house, and is one of the few hot melt laminators in Malaysia which produces knitted/dyed/finished fabrics for the global market. Hot melt lamination is a process of binding materials together through the extremely precise control of the coating of adhesives.
Powernet is certified to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification for “dyed fabrics made of polyester, nylon, nylon/spandex and nylon/lycra; and undyed fabrics made of polyester and nylon”. This standard is a European Standard awarded by Testex, which is the Swiss Textile Testing Institute and Institute of the International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology. In further testimony to the high-quality standards practiced by Powernet, it is also the only Marks & Spencer (UK) accredited laboratory in Malaysia.
